Thomas early Luthier roots begin in Paris, France, where as a young boy, he insatiably absorbed the nuances and culture of wood working and blacksmith through his Italian immigrant great uncles.
His education in the crafts of guitar and tool making, which includes spending three years training with Daniel Stickel who studied under Geza Burghardt, Michael Dunn, and Jose Romanillos while in Spain. Thomas then went on to study two years of violin and viola making with Michael Altshuler, who learned in Russia with Denis Yarovoy (who in his time studied in Italy)
In addition to his intensive training and apprenticeships, for the past ten years, Thomas continued to learn with the great relationship of other distinguished Luthiers, Ron Melnechenko and Christophe Grellier.
Thomas teach Industrial Design at the Emily Carr University of Design and Kinetic Architecture at the University of Oregon.
